This article provides a detailed description of how to set up a new email account in Outlook. First, open the email accounts via the "Tools" menu. After adding a new account, choose between POP3 or IMAP. Then enter the user information and enable the option that the outgoing mail server requires authentication. How it works:
- Contact us by email at support@metanet.ch.
- Confirm that you accept the costs for the Premium Service.
- We will send you suggested appointment times for the setup via TeamViewer.
Important: Please make sure that TeamViewer is installed on your device before the appointment.
1. In the menu bar, open Email Accounts under Tools...
2. Click on Add a new email account.
3. Choose POP3 or IMAP (here is the difference).
4. Enter your user information.
Then click on More Settings...
5. Activate My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
6. Enable the option This server requires a secure connection (SSL) and enter port 465 for the Outgoing mail server (SMTP). Confirm with OK.
7. Check your account settings by clicking on Test Account Settings...
8. If the test is successful, finish the setup by clicking OK and Finish. The new account is now set up.
