This article describes the steps to set up an email account in Thunderbird. First, open the account settings via the "Tools" menu. Then add a new email account by entering your name, email address, and password. Instead of the suggested settings, select "Manual config" and choose between POP or IMAP. How it works:
- Contact us by email at support@metanet.ch.
- Confirm that you accept the costs for the Premium Service.
- We will send you suggested appointment times for the setup via TeamViewer.
Important: Please make sure that TeamViewer is installed on your device before the appointment.
1. In the menu list, under Tools, open the Account Settings …
2. Click on Account Actions at the bottom left and select Add Mail Account
3. Enter your name, your email address, and the associated password.
4. Thunderbird will now suggest automatically chosen settings. Please instead select Manual config.
5. Choose POP or IMAP (here is the difference)
6. Verify the entered information and then click Done.
7. The account has been set up
