Plesk: Secure Webmail with SSL

This article provides instructions for setting up SSL/TLS certificates in Plesk, either for free with Let's Encrypt or using your own certificate. For Let's Encrypt, the domain must point to the IP address defined in Plesk and a functioning email address must be available. Activation is done by selecting the certificate in the Plesk tool, and installation takes up to 15 minutes. When using your own certificate, similar steps are required, including selecting advanced settings and protecting webmail. Both methods result in automatic certificate renewal.

• Domain (website and email) must point to the IP address defined in Plesk.
• The specified email address must be operational and reachable.

Activation

1. Log in to the Plesk administration tool (Forgot password?)

2. Under your domain, select the menu item "SSL/TLS Certificates"

3. Select “Reissue Certificate”

4. Choose “Install free basic certificate from Let's Encrypt”.

5. Now select “Protect webmail on this domain” and proceed with installation by clicking “Use for free”.

1. After the automatic restart of the web server (duration: up to 15 minutes), the certificate will be fully activated. It is issued for 3 months and automatically renewed.

With your own certificate

1. Under your domain, select the menu item "SSL/TLS Certificates"

2. At the top, select “Advanced Settings”.

3. Check the box next to the desired certificate and select "Protect webmail".

After the automatic restart of the web server (duration: up to 15 minutes), the certificate will be fully activated.
