This guide explains how to publish a website created with the Website Builder. To do this, you need to adjust the DNS records of the domain so that the www entry points to "web.accounts.ch" and the A record points to the IP "46.231.204.29". These changes are made in the domain’s nameservers. Afterwards, the domain must be set as the primary domain, either via the "Manage" option or directly in the Website Builder editor under "Page Settings." Third-party domains can also be managed through the editor.
The following instructions describe how to publish a website created with the Website Builder:
-
Modify the DNS records as follows:
The www entry of the domain must point to web.accounts.ch. The A record of the domain itself must point to the IP 46.231.204.29.
Example excerpt from a DNS zone:
yourdomain.ch. IN A 46.231.204.29
www.yourdomain.ch. IN CNAME web.accounts.ch.
-
The adjustment is made in the nameservers of your domain. Check which ones are currently used and make the change there:
ns/ns2/ns3.ch-meta.net
If the domain is operated via our managed nameservers, we will gladly make this adjustment for you. Please contact us by email at support@metanet.ch.ch.pro.io / nl.pro.io / p.dnh.net
If you manage the DNS zone via my.metanet.ch, you can make the entry using the “Website Builder” template with just a few clicks.ns1.
servername.metanet.ch / ns2.servername.metanet.ch
If you are using the Plesk nameservers, you can apply the “Website Builder” template. -
Set your domain as the primary domain: Select "Manage" and define your domain as "Primary":
Alternatively, the linkage can also be done directly in the Website Builder editor under "Page" → "Page Settings" → "Website Status" → "Preferred Domain."
If you want to assign a third-party domain or a domain not managed under this subscription, this can also be done via the editor under Manage → Domain Linkage. Please refer to our guide Website Builder: Linking Additional Domains for more information.
