This article provides a comprehensive guide to managing email settings in a webmail system. It explains how to compose messages by default in HTML format, permanently enable read and delivery receipts, turn spell check on or off, create and edit signatures, and send emails to recipients in the address book or to groups. You can compose messages either in plain text or in HTML format. This option, whether a message is composed and sent as HTML or plain text, can be defined in the settings.
To do this, click on Settings on the left and then select the Composing Messages section. Here, at the first item Compose HTML messages, you can choose from the dropdown whether new messages should be composed by default in HTML format or if this should only be used when replying to an HTML message:
Permanently enable/disable read and delivery receipts

Read and delivery receipts can be requested individually for each message. If you want to receive these receipts permanently, proceed as follows.
Click on Settings on the left and then select the Composing Messages section. Depending on which receipt you want to receive/request permanently, check the box for the read receipt (MDN) or delivery receipt (DSN) and then save your changes.
Spell check

When composing an email message, errors can be corrected/marked directly by the spell checker. You can turn this on or off as follows.
- Click on Settings on the left.
- Now select the Composing Messages section in the left column.

Now you can select or deselect the desired spell check options and save.
Create/edit signature

A signature for sending via webmail can be created as follows:
- Click on Settings on the left.
- Now select the Identities button in the far left Settings column.
- Then click on the email address (the email user).
- Now you can enter and edit the display name and other data.
- At the bottom in the Signature field, enter the desired signature that will be attached to your messages.
- Optionally, you can create the signature as HTML.

You can define how the signature is attached to the message and whether it should be omitted when replying to the original message.
To do this, click on Settings at the top right and then select Composing Messages. Under Signature, you can set the desired options and save them by clicking Save.
Send email to recipients in address book / to multiple participants (group)

When composing a new message, you can enter individual recipients or all recipients of a group directly from the address book into the recipient field and send the message to them.
- Click on Compose on the left.
- At the right edge of the TO field is the address book.
- You will now see all existing contacts and groups. Groups are identified by parentheses showing the number of contacts in that group. (Number of contacts).

Double-click with the left mouse button on a contact or group, and all recipients of the group or the selected contact will be entered into the TO recipient line.
