This article explains how to set up an IMAP account so that the folders for sent messages, drafts, and trash are synchronized with the server. This allows access to all emails via webmail services such as Horde or Roundcube, even when on the go. Instructions are provided for various email clients including Mac Mail, Thunderbird, and Outlook 2010 to configure synchronization of the respective folders.

- Log in to Webmail.
- Select Webmail under Settings.

Now select Personal Information in the General column.
- Confirm with Save and go back to the Overview.

Now select Drafts under the New Messages column.
- Confirm with Save and return to the Overview.

Now select Delete and Move Messages under the Message column.
- Confirm with Save.
Webmail (Roundcube)
- Log in to Webmail.
- Select 'Settings' - Settings - Special Folders

Here you can assign the corresponding folders.
Webmailer
- Log in to the Webmailer.
- Select Email Accounts under Settings.
- In the Edit Folders menu, enable Use Custom Folders instead of System Folders.
- Now select Sent from the dropdown list for sent-mail:

Select the desired folder for sent emails under your IMAP account and click on Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For > Sent:
Thunderbird
- Open Account Settings... under Tools and select the Copies & Folders menu under the account.
- Enable When sending messages, automatically - Place a copy in - Other folder:
- Select the desired folder:
Outlook 2010
- Open the settings of the IMAP account under File - Account Settings.
- Select the account and click Change...
- Select More Settings...
- Click on the Sent Items tab and select Save sent items in the following folder on the server to store sent items for this account.
