METANET enables encrypted email communication, provided the email client supports it. For receiving, POP3 over SSL (Port 995) and IMAP over SSL (Port 993) are used, while for sending, SMTP over SSL (Port 465) and Submission with STARTTLS (Port 587) are utilized. Encryption may slightly delay the process, and the correct server name must be specified to avoid certificate warnings. Instructions for setup with active encryption are available.
