Version 8 of the Website Builder offers new options for embedding documents. A dedicated PDF download widget makes it easy to offer PDF files for download. Additionally, there is a Dropbox widget that allows files to be integrated via a Dropbox account. To use the web hosting storage space, subdomains can be created and documents uploaded via the file manager. These can then be linked in the Website Builder editor to make them available on the website.
There are several ways to embed documents in the Website Builder. Version 8 of the Website Builder introduces a separate widget that allows PDF documents to be offered directly as downloads.

PDF Download Widget
The PDF Download Widget allows you to easily offer PDF documents for download. To do this, click on "Add Content" and drag and drop the widget to the desired location.
Dropbox Widget
With the Dropbox widget, you can embed individual files for download. A corresponding Dropbox account is required. To do this, click on "Add Content" and drag and drop the "Dropbox" widget to the desired location.
Using the Web Hosting Storage Space
Create a new subdomain, e.g., media.yourdomain.com, via Plesk and then upload the documents
via the file manager into the corresponding subdirectory.
- In Plesk, click on the function Add Subdomain
- Define a subdomain name of your choice:
- After creation, go to the Files menu and select the defined subfolder (document root):
- Upload your documents to the directory using the "Upload" function:
- You will now see the uploaded files and can reference them in the Website Builder editor:
- Back in the Website Builder editor, you can link the respective content:
7. Now enter the corresponding subdomain including the file name as the target address (an external page):
8. After saving both content types, the corresponding text is linked to the document:
